Inspired by “The Three Sisters” by Anton Tchekhov

Creation and staging of Tita Maravilha

With Ivvi Romão, João Abreu, Luan Okun

Duration: 1h40

Synopsis:

The Three Sisters, Diogo, Macha and Irina, live in a city in the countryside of Russia. Bored with the day-to-day life of the province, which isolates them and withers  their dreams, they yearn to return to Moscow/Moscow, their homeland.

In this show, based on a post-contemporary and multidisciplinary reading of Chekhov's classic, Tita Maravilha proposes a narrative where the basic concepts of normative society are revisited based on the subjectivities of each of these three sisters.

#oh how different they are!

# speaks about Russia, looks like Brazil, but it's Lisbon!! 🤑

#I went to Moscow-Moscow and it reminded me of you. 👻

“It is not enough to dream, first of all we must act. And quickly!”

The Three Sisters is the winning project of the 5th edition of the Amélia Rey Colaço Scholarship, an initiative promoted by the Teatro Nacional D. Maria II (Lisbon), A Oficina (Guimarães), O Espaço do Tempo (Montemor-o-Novo), and the Viriato Theater (Viseu)

In the creative process of “As Três Irmãs”, Tita Maravilha and her group of performers aims to trigger a point of view that goes beyond theatrical canons and negotiates the future with the awakening of new meanings.

“As Três Irmãs” arises from a radical interest in interacting in an intersectional and transversal way in the performing arts, where allegedly distant references come together to rethink and change, together with the audience, the flow of history, with criticism and humor as key words. The creation and sharing of a new space.

Communicate and negotiate with contemporary concepts of work, family, identities, geographies and migrations, expanding them and enhancing them as poetic material, removing them from the idea of a single representation.
