Tita Maravilha was born in 1993 in Pirenópolis (Brasil) and is now based in Lisbon. She is an actress, singer, performer and clown, graduated in Universidade de Brasília. Through the idea of a political body, she brings into her artistic processes the pains and delights of being dissident. Resident in Portugal since 2018, she collaborates with CIGARRA in the electronic music and performance project “TRYPAS-CORASSÃO”.
She is the solo creator of four works. Trypas Corassão: Show in Two Acts (2020), Tita in Wonderland (2021), Exercise for mediocre performers (2021) and Exercise for a poor theater or letter to Grotowski (2022).
As a winner of of the 5th edition of Amélia Rey Colaço scholarship, she directed an acclaimed version of Anton Tchekhov’s Es Tr3s Irms // The Three Sisters, in a tour contemplating 4 portuguese cities.
Director and curator of Precárias: Performance Festival, premiered in 2022 and now heading to its third edition in 2025.
In cinema, her first short documentary, entitled Pirenopolynda, premiered in 2023 at Doc Lisboa, and it now holds five awards for Best Film and Best Cinematography.
Tita Maravilha describes herself as a “hybrid bitch”, an urgent voice in the contemporary artistic scene.
